As the fastest industrial hose repair and replacement service, PIRTEK knows how hydraulics help fluid power professionals. That’s why we make it our mission to have a one-hour onsite ETA available 24/7 to minimize equipment downtime and eliminate the need for customers to leave their facility.
More and more companies in the construction, manufacturing, and distribution industries rely on PIRTEK to keep their businesses operating, especially in areas experiencing population booms.
Hydraulics Help Fluid Power Professionals
The International Fluid Power Society (IFPS) was formed over 60 years ago. IFPS provides education, training, and certification for the fluid power workforce, as well as the advancement of technology and professionalism in the industry.
When IFPS first began, there were 30 professionals that wanted to support the future of the fluid power industry and the ever-changing technologies involved. Since then, that number has grown to over 4,500 members.
It is IFPS’s mission to provide professional growth for fluid power professionals around the world. Our certification, standardization, and education are governed by a board of directors that includes the National Fluid Power Association (NFPA), Canadian Fluid Power Association (CFPA), and the FPDA Motion and Control Network (FPDA).
Joining IFPS as a fluid power professional gives you access to their expertise and supports a nonprofit organization dedicated to fluid power engineers, specialists, technicians, and mechanics. The IFPS certification tests are an objective, third-party assessment of an individual’s technical skill level. These results are recognized industry-wide to keep fluid power professionals ahead of the game.
Currently, IFPS has 15 different certifications and two in development. They have become known as an industry leader and can cover diverse jobs within the industry, like mechanics, technicians, specialists, system designers, and engineers. Altogether, they have nearly 10,000 active certification holders.
Fluid Power Professionals Day, June 19th
IFPS began celebrating Fluid Power Professionals Day in 2014 to recognize and honor hydraulics and pneumatics and the industry personnel like engineers, mechanics, technicians, and specialists who work with fluid power every day.
There are many different ways to celebrate Fluid Power Professionals Day, including:
- Wear emblems, pins, badges, and shirts noting your fluid power affiliation
- Treat your employees/coworkers to cake or a pizza
- Attend an amusement park or special event
- Take pictures of your activities
- Have a company picnic or cookout
- Include practical hydraulics with a squirt gun battle
- Give back to the industry with a donation
While one day may be designated to celebrate all that fluid power professionals do, PIRTEK and IFPS recognize the hard work that these experts accomplish every day.
